Dr. Afsar Pasha

Dr. Afsar Pasha is a highly skilled interventional cardiologist with 5 years of specialized experience in the field. He completed his DNB residency in Cardiology at Manipal Hospital, Airport Road, Bangalore, where he received rigorous training in both clinical and interventional cardiology. He further honed his expertise as an Associate Consultant in Interventional Cardiology at Fortis Hospital, Cunningham Road, Bangalore, from December 2022 to February 2024.

Dr. Afsar Pasha has an extensive procedural portfolio, having performed approximately 500 diagnostic angiograms and over 200 coronary angioplasty procedures. His technical skills extend to complex coronary interventions, including IVUS and OCT guided angioplasty, rota-ablation, and IVL guided coronary angioplasty. He is proficient in FFR and IFR guided coronary procedures and has executed temporary pacemaker insertions, IABP insertions, and pericardiocentesis with precision.

In addition to his work in coronary interventions, Dr. Afsar Pasha has assisted in a variety of structural heart interventions, such as ASD, VSD, PDA, and paravalvular leak device closures. His experience also includes assisting with advanced procedures like TAVR, LAA closure, and PTMC. Furthermore, Dr. Afsar Pasha has supported numerous electrophysiological interventions, including pacemaker, ICD, and CRT implantations, as well as radiofrequency ablation procedures.

Dr. Afsar Pasha’s commitment to medical research is evident in his multiple award-winning presentations and case studies. His work includes the study of hypertension in diabetic patients and its impact on microvascular and macrovascular complications, as well as unique case studies like hemorrhagic stroke following snake envenomation and thyroid disorders during pregnancy. He has presented groundbreaking cases and techniques at prominent national and international cardiology conferences, covering topics such as image-guided coronary angioplasty, bifurcation techniques, and the complexities of managing challenging coronary interventions.

He holds certifications from the IMMAST Cardiac MRI Program (March 2024), the TRICO (Trans Radial Intervention Course, February 2024), and the IMMAST TEE Program, reflecting his dedication to continuous learning and mastery in his field.

Dr. Afsar Pasha’s qualifications include an MBBS, an MD, and a DNB in Cardiology. He is a Fellow of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (FSCAI), underscoring his commitment to excellence in cardiovascular care.
